Gardening 101: Grow Your Own!

Class is on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, from 3pm-5pm at Sycamore Station. 1900 Dutch Oven Rd, Salem, VA 24153.

Do you want to grow your own food but don't know where to start? Do you have limited space and don't know what you can grow? Do you have an existing garden, but it needs an overhaul? Let me help you with your garden dreams of growing fresh, healthy food and becoming more self-sufficient!

I have ten years' experience growing food for my family and to sell and specialize in small spaces! You don't need a huge garden to grow a lot of food! I also make regular appearances on the news special “All the Dirt”, sharing growing tips and ways to preserve your crops.

In this two-hour class, we will

-dive into picking the right spot for your unique space

-different options for growing

-ways to feed your soil and plants

-companion planting

-what plants to grow for our area and when to plant them!

Anyone who attends the class will also be able to send follow up questions through our email for more troubleshooting/guidance. I want to help your garden dreams come true!

This class includes a paper copy overview of what is discussed, and a couple of free seed packets of your choice from our home garden. Come with a pen, ready to take notes, and meet other aspiring gardeners in the process!
